Hello, my name is Luma. I’m a nurse and I live in Portugal. And I’m running this campaign to help a friend in Gaza.
I am Salam, a Palestinian mother with two children living in Gaza. I am suffering from the horrors of war. My home was completely destroyed, and I live in a tent that does not protect us from the heat of summer or the cold of winter. We have been displaced more than once from one place to another. We are exhausted and suffering from all kinds of starvation, genocide, bombing, fear, and displacement. We have no money or food, and prices are high. The siege is severe and stifling. My husband has been missing for a year. We do not know anything about him, whether he is a prisoner or dead. My oldest son, Mahmoud, 15 years old, was injured in the head by shrapnel from a missile, which led to the loss of part of his brain and caused hemiplegia. He fell into a coma, which caused him to be unable to walk or speak. He remained in a coma for a long time and needed special care, treatment, food, and a safe place. He suffers from many problems. My daughter, Sama, 13 years old, was deprived of education for two years because of the war. She was an outstanding student and aspired to become a lawyer. Now she feels betrayed, psychologically exhausted, and afraid. I fear for them from being killed, and I pray to God to protect them, heal my son, and fulfill my daughter’s dream.
